Omega-3 fatty acids as a necessary part of a calorie-restricted diet

Initial animal data suggest that omega-3 fatty acids protect against the negative side effects of a diet with a pronounced weight loss. In particular, the prevention of the frequently observed restriction mental performance seems to be possible through an omega-3 supplementation.
