The regular consumption of black tea could have a positive impact on body weight by reducing fat absorption in the intestine. Initial animal studies suggest that some polyphenols from black tea extracts, the weight gain from a diet can reduce high fat content. In this investigation showed that the black tea polyphenols inhibit the activity of pancreatic lipase and thus reduce fat absorption from the intestine. The unabsorbed fat in the intestine, however, could lead due to its laxative effect to intestinal problems.
